Bald Eagle escapes from Baton Rouge Zoo

bald-eagle

Today, July 4, 2013 a bald eagle at the Baton Rouge Zoo declared its independence by escaping by very clever means.

Apparently, the eagle tunneled out of its cage and then to the amazement of Zoo employees spread its wings and flew away. The reason that this is amazing is that eagles in captivity have their wings clipped regularly to keep them from being able to fly.

So this clever bird-of-prey pulled a move right out of Hogan’s Heroes by tunneling out and then just like Sampson in the Bible showed that his strength (wings/ability to fly) had come back more than his captors had thought.

Go eagle go!
